AVMA needs to within
the next 6 months design and implement a PR campaign aimed at promoting the
veterinary profession and highlighting the importance of a regular examination.
AVMA has a budget of $21 million. It is the ONLY
organization that has the means to mount a national ad campaign to promote the
veterinary profession. Many trade organizations have mounted successful
campaigns to increase awareness and promote their respective professions.
A simple campaign to encourage pet owners to take their pet
to the veterinarian may go a long way to help the profession.
